If compliant, a Certificate of Compliance is issued within hours. If not, a detailed report outlines requirements — rectify within 6 weeks and book a reinspection.
⚠️ Common Non-Compliances to Check Before Your Inspection
Gate must self-close and latch from all positions in the arc. Latch must be 1500mm above ground on the outside of the barrier.
Gate hinges require 900mm separation (top to top), OR a safety cap angle fixed to the lower hinge.
Plants, BBQs, taps, and climbable objects must be removed from within the 900mm arc outside the barrier and 300mm inside.
Effective barrier height must be at least 1200mm measured on the outside. Landscaping can reduce effective height.
Gaps under the barrier must be less than 100mm at all points around the pool perimeter.
CPR chart must be current (less than 2 years old). The date is located at the base of the chart.
